Work in the industry
The group's commitment goes far beyond our company interests and includes numerous honorary activities within the industry.
The company founder Jörg Wolff has been chairman of the German Association of Sunlight Systems (SLS) as well as the Development Association of Sunlight Systems (FVS) for more than 20 years. From 2000 to 2004 he was the first chairman of the European Sunlight Association (ESA). Furthermore, he has been chairman of the Academy of Tanning (AfB) since its founding in 1991.
Our companies provide the AfB with instructors to train the owners of tanning salons and their employees. Dr. Peter Bocionek of JW Holding not only does training on behalf of the AfB, but also dedicates a large portion of his time to promote the industry. He is vice chairman of the European Sunlight Association (ESA) and chairman of the Technical Work Group (TWG) of the ESA. Moreover, he is vice president of the German Academy for Photobiology (DAfP) as well as member of various standards committees and other organisations.
Our subsidiary NARVA Lichtquellen GmbH + Co. KG is a member of the German Electrical and Electronic Industry Association (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V.= ZVEI), as well as of the association for the promotion of good light (Fördergemeinschaft Gutes Licht = FGL) which belongs to the ZVEI and the European Lamp Companies Federation (ELCF). As a member of the German solar industry association, BSW, we are involved with the association work in the solar heat segment. Depending on the subject, members of the research, marketing or sales departments actively participate in the aforementioned organisations.
In the US, our subsidiary Cosmedico Light Inc. is involved with the association work. The company is member of the American Indoor Tanning Association (ITA). Since 1999 already, a Cosmedico representative has been member of the executive board. Cosmedico Light is also one of the founders of the UV Foundation which has dedicated its efforts to researching the positive effects of UV light since 2004. Furthermore, the subsidiary is member of the Joint Canadian Tanning Association (JTCA). NTS Solar, the solar heat branch of Cosmedico Light, is member of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the North East Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA).
